Trading as Kurnell Land Fill Company

Breen Holdings Pty Limited was established by its founder, Mr Tom Essington Breen in 1948. The Company operated one of Sydney's largest construction sand businesses (Metropolitan Sand Company), which was a major supplier to concrete manufacturers, general industries and government instrumentalities. Through a subsidiary Company (Processed Sand Pty Limited), Breen Holdings pioneered the manufacture of industrial silica products, which serviced a wide range of specialised applications throughout industry. The Company sold the sand businesses in 1985 and currently Rocla Quarry Products extracts sand from this site.

The Breen Companies retained ownership of the land, and Breen Holdings established its current business, Kurnell Land Fill Company, to restore the completed sand extraction areas. Kurnell Land Fill Company ("KLF") operates an inert waste landfill facility on the site, and has become a recognised leader in the waste management and materials recovery industries (See KLF page).

Breen Holdings also owns properties for future development at North Cronulla, and through associated companies, owns other properties in the Sydney Basin, containing large sand resources which are earmarked for future extraction and development.
